Ahead of the 2024 Akwa Ibom State Local Government elections, Mr. Ubong Nkutt has emerged as the consensus candidate to represent the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Itu Local Government Area. This followed a rigorios process which culminated with his emergence on Wednesday.
Addressing newsmen shortly after his emergence, Mr. Nkutt who is popularly known as Kuti said he is grateful to God for his grace and expressed profound gratitude to Governor Umo Eno, stakeholders and the members of PDP in Itu Local Government Area for believing in him and supporting him and making this dream a reality.
Nkutt used the opportunity to call on all others who also aspired for the coverted position to join in the continued struggle to rebuild Itu Local Government Area. He disclosed his desire to work with everyone, urging them to join hands with him and ensure the party wins at all levels in the forthcoming Local Government polls, adding that his emergence is a victory for PDP and that it was a brotherly contest hence there was no victor and no vanquished.
Mr. Ubong Nkutt poured encomium on those who believed in his dreams and aspirations and stood by him from the beginning of the race, while urging every other party faithful who had at one time supported another aspirants to remain loyal to the party and work for its success in the elections. He particularly commended the Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem and his predecessor; Hon. Prince Idongesit Ituen and other stakeholders for their guidance and support.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ubong Nkutt has picked the nomination form to contest for the position of the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council in the elections scheduled by the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) to hold in October.
