During a press conference held in Uyo on Saturday, the President-General of the Akwa Ibom Business Community, Mr. Lordswill Umani, emphasized that the group is well-positioned to drive investment and align with the administration's development goals. He noted that the community is ready to contribute significantly to the governor's vision for economic growth and private sector development.
Addressing recent rumors suggesting Governor Umo Eno, a former Chairman of the Business Community's Board of Trustees, had sidelined the group, Umani dismissed such claims. He affirmed that the governor has consistently upheld his promises and maintained strong ties with the community.
Flanked by key stakeholders, including Adede Uduak Akpan of Afe Mkparawa Anang, Chief Daniel Chukwuma of the Urban Traders Welfare Association, Mr. Ifiok Paul of the Ibom Boutique Owners Association, Capt. Linus Ibanga of the Uyo Timber Association, Mr. Osita Nwude Patrick of the Igbo Business Forum, and Mr. Innocent Akpan of Urua Mbakara, Umani reassured the business community of the governor's commitment. He praised Governor Eno as a leader who values his primary constituency and consistently delivers on his promises.
"As a community that holds our leader in high esteem, we must continue to support and pray for Governor Eno as he steers the state toward private sector-driven development. We commend his exceptional leadership and will stand by him, opposing any attempts to undermine his achievements," Umani stated.
This call from the business community follows the recent dissolution of the State Executive Council, which Governor Eno announced last Friday in Uyo.
